Alaqua’s “Special Animal Fund: Classified” has been created to support the intake and medical treatment of animals that come to us from urgent situations. On a continual basis, Alaqua supports county law enforcement agencies who are without resources; shelters that do not have the capability to help; and severe cases that involve criminal offenses.
For all of these situations and more, Alaqua steps in to take these animals and does whatever necessary—including x-rays, blood work, and 24-hour emergency care—to save their lives or to help build criminal cases so that there can be successful prosecution.
Without the help of Alaqua, there would be no other choices for these animals. Yet, many times, their cases and situations are often not able to be publicized. It is some of the most difficult—and most expensive—work we do.
